Devotees Gather At Masjid To Offer Namaz On the Occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr
Guwahati: Muslims around the world are celebrating the festival of Eid-al-Fitr commonly known as Eid to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
As the holy month of Ramadan drew to a conclusion on Saturday, worshippers flocked to mosques in different areas of the nation.
The Muslim Community of Assam also started their days with prayers at mosques.
Following the namaz, everyone will meet one another and partake in a lavish feast.
Ramzan which ushers in a month-long period of fasting is regarded as the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.
The only meals Muslims eat throughout the 30-day fasting period are the pre-fast “sehri,” which is eaten at dawn and the post-fast “iftar” which is eaten after sunset.
Traditionally, the fast is broken with dates and water followed by a light and nutritious meal.
