Devotees Seek Divine Protection for Indian Army at Kamakhya Temple Amid Rising Indo-Pak Tensions
Guwahati — As cross-border hostilities between India and Pakistan escalated overnight, an atmosphere of solemn devotion gripped Guwahati’s Kamakhya temple where scores of devotees gathered at dawn to offer prayers for the Indian Army. With incense in the air and folded hands raised to the sky, devotees invoked the blessings of Maa Kamakhya for the safety and strength of the armed forces defending the nation’s borders.
The temple premises witnessed an emotional outpouring of patriotic fervour and concern as worshippers expressed their gratitude to the soldiers, many of whom continue to brave hostile conditions following repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Citizens, shaken by the recent spate of violence, called for a complete end to terrorism and reaffirmed their faith in the Indian armed forces and leadership.
“We are really proud of the Indian Army for their tremendous work. They should continue this till terrorism is completely eradicated. We salute them. Jai Hind!” said Shantanu Roy, a devotee participating in the prayer ceremony. Another worshipper, Shumita Roy, said she was praying for the families affected by the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 people dead. “May Maa give strength to those who lost loved ones and power to those still fighting on the frontlines,” she said with folded hands.
A visibly agitated Jai Kumar Das echoed the growing sentiment against Pakistan’s aggression, stating, “Give the army the power to finish off Pakistan completely. They cannot be trusted. We have full faith in Modi ji. But first, let Maa Kamakhya bless our jawans so they return safely to their families.”
Meanwhile, tension gripped border towns in Jammu and Kashmir late Thursday evening as multiple drones and heavy shelling by Pakistani forces triggered panic among civilians. According to local reports, residents of several areas witnessed at least three to four drones hovering above, followed by intense firing that continued through the night. Explosions rang out around 8 PM and again in the early hours of Friday, prompting immediate retaliatory action by Indian forces.
“Explosions started just as we were having dinner, and again at around 4:30 AM. But our forces responded bravely. They are on full alert, and there’s no reason to panic,” said a local resident. Visuals from Jammu revealed the aftermath of the shelling—damaged houses and closed schools, with authorities taking preventive measures by shutting down all educational institutions in Udhampur for the day.
As the situation along the Line of Control remains volatile, citizens across the country continue to rally behind the armed forces—both in spirit and in prayer—hoping that strength, wisdom, and peace ultimately prevail.
