Dhubri Celebrates 10th International Yoga Day with Enthusiastic Participation

Guwahati, 21st June: The district administration of Dhubri, in collaboration with The Art of Living, organized a vibrant celebration of the 10th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2024. The event saw significant participation and enthusiasm from the local community.

Early in the morning, participants from various schools, colleges, administrative offices, police personnel, and other institutions gathered to practice different yoga asanas and pranayama under the guidance of skilled instructors from The Art of Living. Dibakar Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri, noted the diverse turnout for the event.

The Art of Living, a global movement founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, aims to promote yoga and its benefits to physical and mental health. The celebration featured demonstrations of yoga postures, meditation sessions, and discussions on incorporating yoga into daily life.

Brahmachari Achyut, a senior instructor with The Art of Living, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in highlighting yoga’s role in fostering holistic well-being and unity among diverse communities.

International Yoga Day, declared by the United Nations in 2014 and first celebrated in 2015, encourages people worldwide to embrace yoga, an ancient practice rooted in India. Each year, the event aims to reach broader audiences and emphasize yoga’s universal appeal.

The 2024 celebration in Dhubri showcased a strong community spirit and a commitment to health and mindfulness, reflecting the global movement’s goals and the town’s dedication to well-being.
