Digital Dawn in Distant Arunachal: IT Centre Launched in Menchuka
Itanagar: Menchuka, Shi-Yomi District, Arunachal Pradesh, witnessed a pivotal moment as Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated a state-of-the-art IT Skill Development Centre. This initiative, nestled in a forward area, is designed to empower the region’s youth with crucial digital proficiencies. The Indian Army, under the banner of ‘Operation Sadbhavana’, spearheaded the project, aiming to bridge the digital divide and unlock new educational and employment prospects for the local populace.
Chief Minister Khandu, visibly pleased with the development, took to his official X account to express his appreciation. He lauded the Indian Army for their “commendable initiative,” highlighting their commitment to nation-building beyond their traditional duties. “This centre will open new horizons for our youth, empowering them with essential digital skills and opportunities for a brighter future,” he conveyed through his social media post. He further extended his gratitude to the Army for their sustained efforts in uplifting remote communities through initiatives focused on education, skill enhancement, and improved connectivity.
The newly established IT Skill Centre anticipates benefiting hundreds of young individuals in the region, effectively bridging the digital gap and bringing mainstream opportunities closer to the border communities. This development is poised to significantly impact the socio-economic landscape of the area by providing access to modern technological skills.
Earlier in the day, on April 19th, Chief Minister Khandu also laid the foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting sports within the region. These projects include the construction of a Township Road at Tato, a Motorable Bailey Suspension Bridge over Yargapchu to connect Gautse River Island, a Steel Composite Bridge at Tsenang (Farge) to link Mechukha Village, a Multipurpose Sports Stadium at Monigong, a road from PWD Road to Roing Village under Pidi Circle, and a Cement Concrete Road at Drongsar.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Khandu inaugurated the Multipurpose Indoor Hall at Menchuka, a facility intended to nurture young talent and foster a culture of fitness and sports. “Grateful for the gracious presence of Hon’ble Minister Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona Ji,” he shared on X, acknowledging the support and participation in the day’s events.
