Displaced Sikkim Families Seek Justice, Chief Minister Intervenes

The 149 families displaced from Bhusuk, Sikkim, due to Army land acquisition in the late 1970s, finally received a glimmer of hope. On December 9th, they met with the Secretary of the Land Revenue Department, accompanied by their local MLA, Tenzing Norbu Lamtha. The families have been tirelessly advocating for just compensation for their lost land.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has taken a proactive stance in addressing this long-standing issue. He has directed the concerned departments to expedite the process and ensure a fair resolution for the affected families.

The Chief Minister’s intervention has provided a much-needed boost to the displaced families, who have endured decades of uncertainty. They expressed their gratitude for his support and hope that their plight will be addressed swiftly and justly.

MLA Tenzing Norbu Lamtha stated, “This is a significant step towards justice for these families. The Chief Minister’s guidance and the efforts of the Land Revenue Department will pave the way for a fair resolution.”
