Dispur police station to be shifted to new location in Guwahati
Guwahati: The 41-old-year Dispur Police Station in Guwahati city which is adjacent to the Assam Secretariat will be shifted to a new location.
The Dispur police station will be shifted to Ganeshguri area of the city.
The new Dispur police station location will be next to the Gopal Boro government higher secondary school in the Ganeshguri area.
The Dispur police station will move from its current location to its new address within the next 10 to 15 days.
This development was informed by Guwahati police commissioner Harmeet Singh on Tuesday.
Notably, Guwahati police commissioner Harmeet Singh and joint commissioner of Guwahati police – Partha Sarathi Mahanta, on Tuesday intercepted the Dispur police station’s new facilities.
The Dispur police station is currently situated along the GS Road in Guwahati.
The Dispur Police Station is the second-oldest police station in Guwahati and it is busy to boot. It tackles all cases of the High Security zone, including those of the Ministers’ Colony, MLAs’ Hostel, Janata Bhawan and the Assam Legislative Assembly. This apart, the police station has jurisdiction over a large area of east Guwahati. There are two police outposts under it.
