Dissatisfied With The Pace Of Work, Says Nitin Gadkari
Guwahati: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari upon his visit to Assam on Wednesday expressed his dissatisfaction with the pace of work being done on the projects that were carried out under his ministry.
Gadkari was inspecting all of the Northeastern states’ National Highway Development Projects while senior officials and contractors were present.
The contractors’ representatives were under threat from him.
Gadkari said, “Work, or Quit the work by yourself.”
He also ordered the company, who was assigned to construct the Jorhat-Majuli Bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra River, to stop the construction work.
He directed the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to contract out the bridge’s construction to local small construction firms.
Nitin Gadkari arrived in Assam on Wednesday and CM Sarma welcomed him with Assamese gamusa.
