Double Blow for CAP Sikkim as Key Members Exit

GANGTOK: The Citizen Action Party (CAP) Sikkim was today hit by a significant organisational setback as two of its prominent faces, Yuvraj Dahal and Bizal Rai, tendered their resignations with immediate effect. The twin departures have sent ripples through the party, leaving two crucial positions vacant and raising questions about the party’s internal stability.

Yuvraj Dahal, who hails from Lungzick in the 03-Maneybong Dentam Constituency, announced his decision to sever ties with the party in a letter addressed to the Party President. Dahal, who previously served as Treasurer and later as Secretary to the Party President, described his time with CAP as a “valuable and memorable chapter.” While expressing gratitude for the opportunity, his resignation letter did not specify the reasons behind his exit.

Simultaneously, Bizal Rai, who was at the helm of the party’s digital outreach as President of the Digital Communication Council and State Social Media In-charge, also resigned from his post and the party’s primary membership. In his letter, Rai thanked the party leadership for their faith and mentorship, characterising his tenure as an “invaluable learning experience.” He also took pride in the accomplishments made during his time in the digital wing.

The resignations of both Dahal and Rai are effective immediately. While neither individual has publicly elaborated on their motives, the timing of their exits is a notable development for the party’s internal workings. The resignations leave the CAP leadership with the immediate task of re-organising and finding suitable replacements for these key organisational roles as the party continues its political journey in the state.
