Guwahati, July 13, 2024: The Hatigaon locality in Guwahati woke up to a grim double tragedy on Saturday morning, unfolding what appears to be instances of foul play that have shocked the community.
In the Sijubari area, the body of Meher Ali, a youth, was discovered hanging from a tree under suspicious circumstances. His father has raised concerns, alleging that the scene was staged to appear as a suicide while suggesting it was a murder. Sources close to the investigation point to the positioning of the body, indicating potential foul play from behind rather than self-inflicted hanging.
This unsettling incident coincided with another disturbing event in Hatigaon’s Sundarban Nagar, where businessman Syed Ali was reportedly found murdered inside his rented house. Syed Ali was alone at the residence when the crime occurred, as his family was away on vacation.
The police have launched investigations into both incidents. In the case of Syed Ali, attention has turned to two friends who visited him the previous night and are now missing, prompting suspicions of their involvement in the crime.
