Guwahati: Doctor Navanil Barua who was accused of providing false medical reports to Rajkanya Barua, was granted bail hours after his arrest on Sunday.
He was arrested under Section IPC 201/212/120(b) Case No. 370/21 for allegedly providing fake medical certificates and admitting her to ICU without any health complications in Guwahati Neurological Research Centre (GNRC) Hospital.
As all the cases against him were bailable offences, he was granted bail.
It may be mentioned that during the interrogation of Dr Navanil Baruah, it was discovered that Rajkanya had sent WhatsApp messages to Dr Baruah threatening to commit suicide if she was not sent to the hospital’s ICU (Intensive Care Unit).
And reports further stated that Dr. Baruah also spoke with the State DGP (Director General of Police) over the phone about the matter before admitting her to the ICU.
