Drone activities Banned in Guwahati ahead of PM Modi’s visit on March 7 & 8
Guwahati: Drones and flying operations are prohibited in Guwahati on March 7 and 8 in ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival.
This has been informed by the Additional District Magistrate of Kamrup Metro.
The swearing-in ceremonies for the chief ministers of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 7 and 8, respectively.
The NDPP-led NDA government will be sworn in under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, and the prime minister will travel to Nagaland from Delhi in the morning of March 7 to attend the ceremony. He will then fly to Shillong to attend the ceremony for the NPP-led NDA government under Conrad K Sangma. On March 8, the prime minister would likely fly into Guwahati from Shillong before travelling to Tripura.
According to reports, the prime minister would likely be accompanied by prominent BJP figures, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, for the oath-taking ceremonies in the northeastern states.
However, there has been no official confirmation about the visit of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah yet.
The National People’s Party (NPP), led by Conrad Sangma, emerged as the state’s single-largest party but fell short of the majority threshold in the recently concluded assembly elections in the Northeast. The NPP is now expected to form a coalition government with the BJP in Meghalaya.
Conrad K. Sangma, the leader of the NPP, handed the letter of support for the formation of a coalition government with the NPP, signed by 32 MLAs from the NPP, BJP, HSPDP, and two Independents, to state Governor Phagu Chauhan last Friday evening.
Meghalaya’s Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will take the oath of office for a second term on Tuesday.
Neiphiu Rio was chosen as the new leader of the legislature party by the newly elected NDPP MLAs in Nagaland during a meeting in Kohima. Rio, the state’s longest-serving chief minister, is expected to continue in his position for a fifth straight term.
On Saturday, Neiphiu Rio filed a claim to form the new administration in the state and submitted his resignation as the Chief Minister of Nagaland to Governor La Ganesan.
According to data issued on Tuesday by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the ruling NDPP-BJP maintained its hold on power in the Nagaland election after securing 37 seats in the assembly’s 60 members.
Seyievilie Sachu, the president of the Congress, was defeated by Neiphiu Rio for the Northern Angami-II seat. Rio received 15,646 votes compared to his opponent’s meagre total of 1,078.
With 33 seats, the BJP-IPFT is poised to form the government in Tripura, led by Manik Saha. For a second consecutive term, he will remain in his position as state chief minister.
The results for each of Tripura’s 60 seats have been announced by the Election Commission. Only 3 seats were gained by the Congress, 11 by CPM, and 13 by Tipra Motha.
