Guwahati: At least nine persons were arrested on allegations of them being involved in drug peddling and trafficking across various locations in Guwahati by a team of city police on Wednesday.
The arrested persons were arrested based on specific inputs and a small cache of suspected heroin and cash. The police informed that from the nine arrested persons, they recovered at least 136 containers along with 19 grams of suspected heroin. The police also seized cash amounting to Rs 12,200 with four mobile phones.
The persons arrested have been identified as Babul Ali, Kasim Ali, Md Nilchand Ali, Biplob Biswas, Hazra Begum, Nazima Khatun, Abidur Rahman, Afsana Begum, and Abdul Khalek.
