Guwahati: With the drug menace continuing in the state, Assam Police seized a huge quantity of illicit drugs and arrested four suspected drug peddlers in connection from Basistha locality of Guwahati on Sunday.
The accused identified as Calvin Klein, Mankhar Ronghang, Manik Ingti and Dhrubajyoti Bora.
According to reports, the consignment of drugs was being transported from Nagaon to Guwahati and was arrested during a routine check at the locality.
Reportedly, one of the drug peddlers confessed to the police officials that they were paid Rs 2000 to deliver the contraband into the city.
It may be mentioned that the market value of the seized drugs is around Rs 6 crores.
The investigation is on to unearth more linkages of the drug racket and raids are being conducted to nab the remaining accused.
