Guwahati: With the drug menace continuing in the state, Guwahati Police seized a huge quantity of illicit drugs and arrested one suspected drug peddler in connection from ISBT in Guwahati on Friday.
The arrestee has been identified as Wahidur Rahman.
Following a tip off about the illegal drug smuggling, the Special Operation Group (SOG) launched a joint operation with the Gorchuk Police and arrested the accused today.
During the operation, the police officials recovered 5 packets of suspected drugs from his possession.
The officials informed that the consignment of drugs was being transported from Dimapur to Guwahati.
It needs be mentioned that the market value of the seized drugs is worth lakhs of rupees.
