Three Including Village Sarpanch Held for killing 18 Dogs
Guwahati: Three people have been apprehended by the police after 18 stray dogs in the Andhra Pradesh district of Eluru were poisoned and killed.
One of the three was the Chebrole village’s sarpanch (headman), which is located in Eluru.
According to reports, the village secretary and the sarpanch hired K Veerababu, a dog killer and gave him a contract to kill every stray dog in the community.
The accused then poisoned 18 stray dogs by injecting.
The Chebrolu police filed a case against the three under sections 428 and 429 of the Indian Penal Code and the pertinent provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in response to a complaint made by an animal rights activist.
The dogs were poisoned and then killed by the accused.
The situation is currently under investigation.
