Early Trends: BJP and Congress Tied at 2-2 in Assembly Election Results as Vote Counting Progresses in Four States

National Desk, 3rd December: In the ongoing tallying of votes across four states, the BJP has established a comfortable lead in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress takes the lead in Telangana and Chhattisgarh in the initial results. Rajasthan, too, witnesses the BJP leading in 99 seats, with the Congress ahead in 83 seats in the early trends.

In Madhya Pradesh, a central state, the BJP secures an early advantage, leading in 129 seats, surpassing the Congress, which is ahead in 99 seats.

Turning to Telangana, currently governed by the BRS, the Congress emerges as an early frontrunner, leading in 67 seats, while the ruling party takes the lead in 31 seats. The BJP, aspiring to make inroads in the southern state, leads in 11 seats.

In the dynamic scenario of Rajasthan, the BJP leads in 99 seats, while the incumbent Congress is ahead in 83 seats.

Chhattisgarh sees the ruling Congress leading in 46 seats, with the BJP ahead in 37 seats.

The election results for Mizoram, which participated in this electoral cycle, will be announced a day later, respecting the Sunday observance in the Christian-majority state.

These assembly polls, spanning the Hindi heartland, the nation’s youngest state, and one of the Seven Sisters in the Northeast, extend beyond a test of regional political strength. They serve as a precursor to the impending national elections in 2024. With stakes higher than ever, the outcomes are poised to shape strategies and alliances as political parties, both major and minor, gear up for the 2024 Lok Sabha showdown.
