Earthquakes Shake Northeast India and Myanmar

Northeast Desk, 8th May: A tremor registering a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter Scale struck Lower Subansiri in Arunachal Pradesh today, May 8, as reported by the National Centre for Seismology. The seismic activity was felt at 4:55 am local time. Preceding this event, on the evening of May 1, a moderate earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter Scale occurred approximately 90 km (56 mi) from Mon, Nagaland.

Meanwhile, another earthquake, also of magnitude 4.0, originated in Myanmar with its epicenter recorded at a latitude of 26.34 and a longitude of 95.85. The National Centre for Seismology stated that the quake in Myanmar had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.
