Economic blockade to Mizoram no longer there: Assam
Guwahati: On Sunday R Lalthangliana, Health Minister of Mizoram alleged that the medical supplies were not being allowed to enter Mizoram from Assam after the border clashes took place between both the states over the border dispute.
Following the allegations, the Assam government clarified that there is no blockade in the state related to any supplies post-decision related to resume peace talks between the states.
Speaking about the Assam-Mizoram border dispute, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that he could approach the Supreme Court to settle the issue but will not allow the officers of the state to be investigated.
He further added that Mizoram Chief Minister promised to call Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to discuss the issue after completing his quarantine period and the issue can only be solved by discussion.
Meanwhile, Mizoram officials informed that after the violence at the border no vehicle from Assam has entered Mizoram even after the declaration that the ‘economic blockade’ which was enacted by some groups of National Highway 306 has been lifted in the state.
