Education Minister Ranoj Pegu Launch 3 Apps to Solve Problems of Teachers

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu launched three apps on Monday at the director’s office of the Comprehensive Education Mission in an effort to answer teachers’ problems digitally and infuse energy and transparency into the work of the state’s educational institutions.

The 9,000 state pool instructors and 26,000 contractual teachers who would benefit from the improved facilities are the target audience for the apps.

The performance of contractual instructors will reportedly be monitored by education officers via an app and as a result their annual pay would be adjusted based on how well they perform. Teachers can also do their own evaluations through the app.

A new app is released to enhance school infrastructure.

According to Pegu, the state has 46,000 schools and this app will be updated every day with new information on infrastructure and growth strategies.

Ministers and cluster stars will inspect schools and based on the inspection results the data will be entered into the app.

If the teacher performs poorly during the inspection the system will self-assign 50 marks and action will be taken.

There will also be provisions for dismissal in case the performance is repeatedly poor.

Pegu warned the teachers and said, “’Everyone should follow the teacher’s rules. There is still time, let’s be corrected. Don’t force us to make the final decision.”
