Egyptian Minister: India Is a Intresting Destination For Investment & Tourism
Guwahati: Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Finance for Economic Affairs Sherine ElSharkawy, described India as a desirable location for “investment and tourism.”
She emphasised that there are numerous prospects in India particularly in the field of information technology.
“India is an interesting destination both for tourism because of the different cultures and also for investment. There is a lot of business, there is a lot of opportunities, especially in the IT sector,” Sherine El Sharkawy said.
She said this at the cultural event and dinner the G20 delegates were invited to attend on the Kolkata-based cruise ship “The Bengal Paddle.”
Sherine ElSharkawy stated in an interview with ANI that she is “very impressed” with India for inviting nations who are not G20 members to voice their opinions and concerns with other nations.
The meetings of the working groups held during India’s G20 presidency, according to Egypt’s deputy minister of finance for economic affairs, Sherine ElSharkawy, were “extremely productive.”
Notably, India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1.
“I’m really impressed with how it is dealt with. India has invited many countries not part of G20 to provide their input and to listen to the concerns of other countries,” Sherine ElSharkawy said.
“All the working groups that I have attended are very useful and are helping that discussions and ideas back and forth between the members and non-members. All the topics are very well chosen and very important for the current economic environment,” she added.
Sherine ElSharkawy described the ties between Egypt and India as “extremely strong” and noted the similarities between the two countries’ peoples. She said in a statement to ANI, “Actually, as people from the same culture who enjoy the same types of music, food, and religion, we are quite similar. All of this is highly diverse, and India and Egypt are currently cooperating in many different ways.”
When asked if she would go to India again, Sherine ElSharkawy replied, “Absolutely, I will. I am eager for that.” She mentioned that she went to the G20 summit in Bengaluru and that she will return to India to attend meetings in about a month.
“The whole atmosphere is very welcoming. In Egypt, we have the river nile, which reminds me of home with a taste of Indian culture. I am really grateful for this opportunity,” Sherine ElSharkawy said.
