Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations Reverberate Across Assam Amid Political Anticipation

Guwahati, 11th April: Assam resonated with joy and spiritual fervor as Muslims gathered in mosques and Eidgahs across the state to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday. The occasion, known as the “Holiday of Breaking the Fast,” marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, reflection, and increased devotion for Muslims worldwide.

In districts like Lakhimpur and others, Muslims congregated in large numbers to perform the special Eid prayers, Salat al-Eid, which consist of two rakats and are performed in congregation. These prayers were followed by supplications for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of all.

Eid-ul-Fitr holds deep significance for the Muslim community, symbolizing the culmination of a month-long period of fasting and spiritual renewal. The festivities in Assam were marked by the exchange of greetings, gifts, and traditional Eid cuisine, shared with family and friends to spread the joy of the occasion.

However, amidst the celebrations, there was also a sense of anticipation regarding the political landscape of Assam. Many attendees expressed hopes and prayers for the formation of an inclusive government that prioritizes the welfare of all communities and works towards fostering unity and harmony in the state.
