Guwahati, 20th September: In a shocking incident amidst Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, an elderly man was brutally murdered in Assam’s Cachar district. The victim, identified as Harendra Roy (70), was returning home after attending festivities at a relative’s residence when unidentified miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons, resulting in his death.
The miscreants then dumped Roy’s body and fled the scene. Local residents discovered the body and promptly informed the police. Cachar Police initiated an investigation into the murder but have not yet identified the culprits.
The heinous murder has shocked the community, and the motive behind the attack remains unknown at this time.
