Elderly Man Dies of “Scrub Typhus” Disease in Assam

Guwahati, 2 June: A middle-aged man passed away from the disease known as “scrub typhus” on Friday morning in Darrang district of Assam.

The deceased have been identified as Hiren Saharia.

When his blood sample was examined it revealed that he had the illness.

The bacterium Orientia Tsutsugamushi is what causes scrub typhus, sometimes referred to as bush typhus. People can contract scrub typhus by being bitten by infected chiggers (larval mites). Fever, headache, bodily aches and occasionally a rash are the most typical signs of scrub typhus.
