Election Commission Commends Parties for Adherence to Model Code of Conduct

National Desk, 16th April: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has expressed satisfaction with political parties’ adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which has been in effect for a month.

Campaigning activities have largely maintained orderliness, with the ECI emphasizing its commitment to upholding the dignity and respect of women by promptly addressing derogatory or offensive remarks against them.

The Commission has taken decisive action by issuing notices to leaders of political parties engaged in such behavior, demonstrating its proactive stance in ensuring fair and respectful campaigning practices.

Out of approximately 200 complaints lodged by political entities and candidates, the Commission has taken action in 169 cases, reinforcing its commitment to a fair electoral process.
