Guwahati: The carcass of an elephant calf was retrieved from Nagaon district of Assam on Tuesday afternoon.
The calf was found in a wetland near Salbari on the Nagaon-Karbi Anglong border.
According to reports, locals discovered the young elephant after which they informed forest officials.
Reportedly, it is suspected that the animal has died yesterday.
However, the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
