Empowering Women: Kaliabor’s Flower Garden Blooms with Initiative and Resilience on Labour Day

Guwahati, 1st May: Labour Day in Kaliabor witnessed a remarkable display of initiative and determination as a group of enterprising women dedicated themselves to cultivating a vibrant flower garden, adding a splash of color to the local landscape. Amidst their labor, the blossoming flowers illuminated the surroundings, captivating all who beheld them.

The transformation of the nation’s landscape into a tapestry of “marigold” flowers stands as a testament to the efforts of these industrious women. Spanning several bighas, the special flower garden, meticulously curated and nurtured by these women, has emerged as a symbol of their resilience and ingenuity.

From sowing seeds to nurturing the plants to fruition, these women have shouldered every aspect of the endeavor, demonstrating their proficiency in every facet of flower cultivation, from adornment to extraction of oils and beyond.

Hailing from Kaliabor, a group of twelve enterprising women took the lead in establishing this extraordinary flower garden, igniting conversations and admiration throughout the community. In collaboration with the state government’s agriculture department, the Sakhi Group spearheaded the creation of this botanical oasis in Dhenkiyal village.

Today, the garden boasts a kaleidoscope of colorful blooms, a testament to the dedication and expertise of these women. Empowered by their efforts, these twelve women have achieved self-sufficiency through the sale of their flowers, embodying the spirit of entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

As the garden continues to flourish under their care, it serves as a beacon of inspiration, showcasing the transformative potential of collective action and the indomitable spirit of women in Kaliabor.
