Encounter Breaks Out in Jammu & Kashmir

Guwahati: Violence broke out between terrorists and security forces on Tuesday in the Samthan Bijbehara area of Anantnag in South Kashmir. Terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area.

“An encounter has started at Semthan, Bijbehara area in Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the spot. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a statement.

Security personnel from the Army and police conducted an attack in response to specific intelligence information concerning the presence of terrorists in the village. It has been blocked off, according to a report in India Today.

Two terrorists were killed on October 10 during a clash with the security personnel in the Tangpawa hamlet of Kokernag, Anantnag district.
