Guwahati: A youth reportedly drowned into Gaurang River in Assam’s Kokrajhar on Wednesday evening.
The boy has been identified as Antariksha Sharma.
According to reports, he was a second-semester student at the Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC) in Kokrajhar studying chemical engineering.
According to local citizens, Antariksha along with his friends went to the Gaurang River to take a bath after which he was carried away by the swift currents and went missing.
Antariksha was a resident of Mirza in Kamrup Rural district.
Meanwhile, the local police force and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are conducting intensive search operations to locate the body.
However, there is no trace of the body so far.
