England beat Australia in 2nd ODI to level the series by 1-1

World Champions England defeated Australia in a thrilling second match to level the ODI series by 1-1. Chasing 232 to win the series, Australia were looking good at 144-2 before Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer’s outstanding bowling ushered a collapse of 4 wickets for 3 runs in just 21 balls.

Australian team was in cruising position but lost their final 8 wickets for 63 runs as they were all out for 207, despite a courageous last-wicket partnership of 31 runs between Alex Carey and Josh Hazlewood.

In the first innings England had also collapsed for 149-8, but Adil Rashid and Tom Curran 9th wicket partnership took the English team to 231-9. Jofra Archer won the man of the match for his outstanding performance which helped the England to initiate the Australian batting collapse. The final ODI will be held on 16 September at Old Trafford in Manchester.
