Guwahati: Leaders of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on December 3 in New Delhi.

A team from ENPO consisting of 11 people will meet with the Union Minister to address their proposal for the establishment of a distinct “Frontier Nagaland.”

W Manwang Konyak, Secretary of ENPO told ANI that ENPO has received an invitation letter from Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a meeting which is fixed on December 3 at 4 pm in the national capital.

“The Union Home Minister will be met by an 11-member delegation team from ENPO led by R Tsapikiu Sangtam. Our demand for “Frontier Nagaland” to become a separate state will be discussed at the meeting “said W Manwang Konyak.

Seven tribal organisations in Nagaland—CBLT, KBCA, KBBB, PBCA, USBLA, TBBA, and YBBA—combine under the banner of ENPO.

On the other hand, the ENPO asked the anointed spiritual leaders to start a special prayer programme covering all churches under respective associations on December 3 at 4 pm in a letter to seven tribal bodies on Monday. In addition, ENPO asked all genuine Eastern Nagaland citizens to set aside 5 minutes at that time to say a special prayer.

The ENPO has vowed to boycott the assembly elections in Nagaland the next year if their demand for a distinct “Frontier Nagaland” is not met.

The ENPO has also chosen not to take part in the state’s yearly Hornbill Festival, which starts on December 1.
