ENPO Temporarily Accepts Centre’s Proposal for Frontier Nagaland Territory

Kohima: The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), a prominent Naga organisation demanding a separate state for six eastern Nagaland districts, has announced a temporary acceptance of the Centre’s proposal for the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT).

The decision was made after a tripartite meeting held on December 13th in New Delhi, where the Centre outlined its proposal for the FNT, a unique arrangement with executive, legislative, and financial autonomy.

While the ENPO has reiterated its primary demand for a separate state, it has agreed to temporarily accept the Centre’s offer to facilitate further discussions and potential solutions.

The next round of tripartite talks is scheduled for the second week of January to address unresolved issues and finalize the details of the FNT.

The ENPO expressed confidence in the Centre and the Nagaland state government to honor their commitments and fulfill the aspirations of the people of eastern Nagaland.
