Evergreen Couple Neel-Deepali’s Painting Removed From Flyover
Guwahati: Artist Neel Pawan Baruah and vocalist Deepali Borthakur have been subjected to bullying and insult as a result of their Wall painting in Jalukbari. Social media users has been widely criticising for the action of GMDA.
It needs to be mentioned that the story of Padmashri Deepali Borthakur and Noted Artist Nilpawan Baruah is an inspirational one. Perhaps Assam’s most loved couple, the love story of Borthakur and Boruah is an example of what unconditional love is. What makes a story unique is the sacrifice and devotion attached to their commitment to one another which began on March 7, 1976.
The administration and circle have criticized the joint picture of Assam’s renowned painter Payat Neelpawan Baruah and Kokilkanthi Singer Deepali Borthakur ahead of G20 Summit.
The image of two artists bearing the hallmark of the perfect ideal married couple has been considered unattractive by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), which is in charge of beautification.
Everyone has raised their eyebrows at the GMDA’s efforts to remove this wall painting from the Flyover Bridge in Jalukbari. This painting of Neel-Deepali depicts the evergreen love story of the couple. And the painting was also made to mark Guwahati as the city of art.
Questions are also being raised about the responsibility of beautification in this area under the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).
Notably, as India is hosting the Youth-20 (Y20) Summit for the first time on the sidelines of the G20 summit, the first meeting of the Y20 group will be held in Guwahati from February 6 to 8.
