Ex- Chairman of Tata Sons Cyrus Mistry Killed in Road Mishap

Guwahati: Former chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry was killed on Sunday in a car accident in Palghar, Maharashtra, according to police officials.

Mistry was travelling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai when the tragedy happened at about 3:15 p.m.

 The accident took place on a bridge over the Surya River. According to the police officer, it appears to be an accident.

He was travelling with two other people, including the car’s driver, who also sustained injuries. The injured people have all been shifted to a Gujarati hospital.His wife and two kids have survived him.

From 2012 until 2016, Cyrus Pallonji Mistry served as the chairman of the Indian corporate behemoth Tata Group. Due to his advocacy of the Shapoorji Palonji Group, Tata Sons’ largest shareholder, he was appointed chairman.

After his father Pallonji Mistry, a businessman in the construction industry and chairman of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, retired in 2006, he joined the Board of Tata Sons. Mistry was fired as chairman of the group’s holding company, Tata Sons, by the board on October 24.
