Facebook Won’t Show These 4 Infos from Dec 1

Guwahati: Meta-owned Four information categories have been eliminated by Facebook from user profiles. Facebook will no longer display the addresses, political beliefs, religious affiliations or sexual preferences of any user beginning on December 1, 2022.

The changes were first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navara. Sharing the screenshots on Twitter, Navara wrote, “Facebook is removing religious views and ‘interested in’ info from profiles from 1 December 2022.”

Up until now, the social media platform required users to fill up a separate page with information on their address, political beliefs, and sexual orientation. However, Facebook has since opted to delete this information. Users who have filled out these areas are now receiving alerts from Facebook alerting them to the information that will be deleted from their profiles.

“As part of our efforts to make Facebook easier to navigate and use, we’re removing a handful of profile fields: Interested In, Religious Views, Political Views, and Address. We’re sending notifications to people who have these fields filled out, letting them know these fields will be removed. This change doesn’t affect anyone’s ability to share this information about themselves elsewhere on Facebook,” said Emil Vazquez, a Meta spokesperson.

Prior to now, Facebook chose to fire several employees due to significant financial losses. The major social networking company let off 11,000 staff last week across all areas.
