Factory Workers Suffered Burn Injuries in West Bengal, 15 Injured
National Desk, 31 May: As many as 15 people suffered severe burn injuries in a private iron and steel factory as molted hot iron spilled out in Ghutgaria industrial belt of Barjora in Bankura of West Bengal. The injured were rushed to Barjora super specialty hospital.
Meanwhile, Barjora MLA Alok Mukherjee reached Barjora hospital after receiving information about the incident. He termed the incident as unfortunate and said that the factory authorities have taken swift action. He wished the injured workers a speedy recovery and said that all necessary cooperation would be extended.
BDO and SDO of Barjora also reached the private hospital in Durgapur to take stock of the health as well as treatment of the injured workers. The chief medical officer of the hospital Durga Das Roy informed that 80 per cent of the eight workers are in critical condition.
He also said that the injuries of the other workers were serious and all measures would be taken to provide them quality treatment. Roy mentioned that a team of doctors has been formed for their treatment.
On the other hand, a team of Barjora police reached the spot and started investigating. Barajan police station’s IC Arnab Guha termed the accident as unfortunate and informed that the incident was being thoroughly investigated. He also mentioned that he would take stock of the treatment of the injured workers in the hospital.
