Fake Currency Racket Busted by Nagaon Police in Guwahati
Guwahati: A police squad from Nagaon conducted searches in Hatigaon area of Guwahati on Tuesday to shatter a significant base in an effort to crack down on the state’s fake currency rackets.
During the extensive operation, Nagaon Police seized printing equipment and fake currency notes worth Rs 20 lakhs.
According to reports, authorities detained four individuals, among of which them is a women, in connection with the operation of the racket for fake note.
The detainees have been identified Saddiqul Islam, Mofizul Islam, Aizul Rahmana, and Rima Baishya.
They claimed the authorities that they had rented a place in Haitgaon area of Guwahati, from which they operated their racket.
It may be noted that on Monday, authorities in the Darang District of Assam busted another fake notes racket .
Police detained six persons, including three women, in a late-night raid at the Mangaldoi area of Lengripara. Zaman Hussain, Anwar Hussain, Syed Hussain, Rijuma Hussain, Joba Das, and Priya Rai were named as the victims.
Police found thousands of fake Indian rupee notes concealed throughout the rented room during the raid.
