Dhubri– A tragic road accident in Dhubri’s Dumordaha area claimed the life of one student and left four others critically injured after a bus collided head-on with a truck on the National Highway on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Jatin Roy, who succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Among the injured is the headmaster of Dumordaha School, whose condition remains serious. The other injured individuals were rushed to Dhubri Medical College, where they are receiving treatment.
The accident sparked a protest among local students, who blocked the road and staged a sit-in demanding immediate road safety improvements. A police team arrived swiftly to manage the situation and later cleared the blockade after discussions with the protesters. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision as calls for enhanced safety measures intensify.
