Father of the Victim Identifies Body in Fancy Bazaar Murder
Guwahati: Guwahati Police on Wednesday identifed the victim in the Fancy Bazaar hotel murder investigation.
The deceased woman was identified as Aasma Khatun, a resident of Mankchar in Assam.
According to police officials, the father of the victim was able to positively identify her.
The father informed police officials today that the woman had been missing for more than a month.
It should be mentioned that on January 30, the main suspect in the sensational murder case that occurred in the Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati was brought to the Pan Bazar Police Station.
According to reports, the police team that had gone to apprehend the prime accused named Faizuddin was given the transit remand and transported to Guwahati from West Bengal.
The case involved the murder of a woman, whose body was recovered on January 25 in a hotel room in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar. According to initial reports, the woman was the spouse of the person who was no where to be found after the incident.
In a dramatic change of events, it was later revealed that the woman who was found dead in a Guwahati hotel was not the real wife.
The recovery of a woman’s death earlier that day in a Hotel Rajhans room in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar area shocked both the police and hotel workers.
According to initial reports, it was suspected that the woman and her missing husband who had been staying at the hotel, had been there when the crime first came to light.
The finger was soon pointed towards the missing husband as the prime suspect in connection with the matter. However, It was quickly confirmed that he was not the woman’s spouse.
The culprit was identified by authorities as Faizuddin after a preliminary inquiry. The deceased woman was not his wife, it was discovered after asking his family about his whereabout.
