First Ever Assam Book Fair to be Held Outside Guwahati
Guwahati: Under the auspices of the Assam Publication Board and All Assam Book Sellers Association, the Assam Book Fair will be held outside of Guwahati for the first time ever.
The organisers made this announcement in a joint press conference held today .
The Assam Book Fair will take place at Dhemaji from November 4 to November 13, according to the organisers.
The Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu will inaugurate the book fair at Dhemaji on November 4 . The event’s keynote guest will be renowned author Yese Dorje Thongse.
According to the organisers, the book fair will take place in Nalbari from November 8 to November 19 and in Jorhat from December 2 to December 11.
The book fair will be held in Guwahati from December 29 to January 9. The organisers also stated that, in contrast to previous years, the Assam Publication Board award will be given this year as well.
Additionally, they disclosed that Nalbari won’t be using a ticketing system this time. 3000 renowned authors will receive free entry in Dhemaji and students will also receive free entry.
