Coinciding with the Re-opening of the Tourism Sector in Meghalaya, the inaugural Flight of Delhi-Shillong-Delhi was launched at Shillong Airport, Umroi, by the Meghalaya Transport Minister, S Dhar.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the Minister of Transport said that it is a momentous occasion for the State and it will go down in history as a day when Meghalaya is directly connected by Air with the National Capital for the First time. It would initially operate the flight twice a week. Flybig has made arrangements to operate a Bombardier Q400 Aircraft.
