Guwahati — A significant drug bust led to the arrest of five individuals, including a woman, in Hatigaon, Guwahati, on November 12.
The operation, carried out by the EGPD team from Dispur Police Station, targeted an illegal drug trafficking operation at the Central Guest House in Naharoni Path, Hatigaon.
During the raid, authorities seized 10,000 Yaba tablets and 11 grams of suspected heroin, which were concealed inside five soap boxes. The arrested individuals include Md Hasu Miya (45) from Sarthebari, Amina Khatun (40) from Bilasipara, Akmal Hussain (27) from Patharkandi, and Yeahiya Ahmed (24) from Karimganj.
In addition to the drugs, police also recovered four mobile phones and Rs 5,000 in cash, strengthening the case against the accused. Authorities have initiated legal action against the arrested individuals as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
