Five Bangladeshi Nationals Apprehended in Tripura Border Crossing
Madhupur, Tripura – Five Bangladeshi nationals were detained by Madhupur Police in Sepahijala district, Tripura, following an alleged illegal border crossing. The apprehension, aided by local villagers, took place near the India-Bangladesh frontier.
According to Officer-in-Charge Debajit Chatterjee, the police acted on a credible tip-off to intercept the group. All five individuals are members of the same family and hail from the Kurigram district in Bangladesh. The detainees have been identified as Manir Khan, Swadhin Khan, Shahjala Khan, Saheba Khatun, and Dulali Khatun.
During initial questioning, Shahjala Khan reportedly confessed that an unidentified individual assisted them in crossing the border, and their ultimate destination was Delhi. A case has been registered, and the five will be presented before the court as authorities continue their investigation to identify the facilitator of the illegal entry and uncover further details surrounding the incident.
