Five killed in massive fire in Bangladesh

Guwahati: At least five persons were killed in a massive fire at a factory in Bangladesh’s Bogura district.

The incident took place some 197 km northwest of Dhaka.

According to reports, the fire was brought under control after three hours of effort.

The fire started suddenly and spread swiftly, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters in Dhaka.

“After 10 firefighter units quenched the blaze at around 2 p.m., the bodies of five people were retrieved,” he said.

It may be mentioned that the cause of the fire and the amount of the factory’s damage is yet to be ascertained.
