Forest Officials Recover Leopard, Pangolin Skins from Assam’s Nagaon

Guwahati: The forest officials have recovered parts of wild animals, including two leopard skins in Nagaon district of Assam.

In an operation started by the Nagaon division forest officials based on the information of the forest department, the leopard skins have been collected together with several pangolin skins.

According to reports, the forest officers also detained four individuals, identified as Abdul Rahman, Afaz Uddin, Samed Ali, and Nizam Uddin.

Additionally, a case has been opened in connection with the official from the Nagaon Forest Division’s recuperation.

The operation was started based on information provided by the PCCF (Principal Chief Conservator of Forests) and HoFF, according to Bhaskar Deka, District Forest Officer, Nagaon Forest Division, who was quoted by ANI (Head of Forest Forces).

“We went to the Doboka Namati after receiving the information and found some leopard and pangolin skin there. Two leopard skins and about 10–12 kg of pangolin skins was confiscated “Deka stated.

Assam’s forest officials detained three people earlier this month for their alleged participation in the illegal rhino horn trafficking in the Golaghat district of Assam.

According to the forest officers, the trio has allegedly been involved in rhino horn smuggling close to Kaziranga National Park.
