Former APSC Chief Exam Controller is Expected to Be Arrested at Any Time For a Cash-For-Job Scam
Guwahati: Former Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) chief controller of examination will be interrogated by the Dibrugarh police today in relation to the infamous APSC cash-for-job scandal.
The former APSC CEC will reportedly be arrested at any time. Investigating officer Surjit Singh Panesar will conduct a marathon interrogation as more information into the APSC scam emerges following investigation.
According to reportedly, Nandbabu Sinha allegedly burnt 49,000 copies of the OMR sheets from the APSC’s 2014 Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary) exam in front of Rakesh Pal, the commission’s former chairman.
The Judicial Commission’s inquiry has brought to light the awful crimes committed by Nandbabu Singh who accompanied Rakesh Pal, the primary suspect in the entire incident.
Following the release of this information, the Judicial Commission, under the leadership of retired judge Biplab Kumar Sharma of the Gauhati High Court, had called for the questioning of Nandbabu Singh.
It assumes enormous significance that the investigation issued a notice to the former chief examination controller, who had evaded police arrest for six years despite a vast scheme involving the sale of APSC employment in collusion with Rakesh Pal.
It should be mentioned that police officer Surjit Singh Panesar has been leading the probe into the Assam Public Service Commission fraud since 2016. The police discovered the horrifying fraud of commission sales of employment in exchange for cash during this time, and many candidates who had purchased jobs in administrative posts like ACS and APS for lakhs of rupees were found to have committed fraud.
