Former Asom Sahitya Sabha Secretary-General Dr. Amal Rajkhowa Passes Away

Guwahati: The former secretary general of the Asom Sahitya Sabha Dr. Amal Rajkhowa passed away on Friday after suffering from heart problems.

Reportedly, Rajkhowa had been hospitalized for the past several days in the hospital at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), where he took his last breath.

He was receiving therapy for a number of heart-related conditions when he passed away.

The state’s literary community is in shocked after the death of the stalwart.  And he was known to have authored over 30 books.

In addition, Dr. Rajkhowa was renowned for translating Chanakya and the Kalidas book Tusahra.

He is also credited with translating a number of Sanskrit poetry into Assamese.
