Guwahati: Former Assam labour minister Dileswar Tanti breathed his last at the age of 78 following brief illness on Wednesday.
Tanti passed away at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) at around 2.15 PM today.
He was brought to the hospital last month after a blood haemorrhage caused his health to worsen.
Tanta served as the minister of labour in Hiteswar Saikia’s administration from 1991 to 1991 and MLA of Doomdooma Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) from 1978 to 2006.
