Former Justice Ranjan Gogoi Pays Tribute to Ratan Tata, Hails His Enduring Legacy

Assam: Former Chief Justice of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi, paid tribute to the late industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata, expressing profound sorrow over his passing.

In his statement, Gogoi hailed Tata as a “great person” whose influence went far beyond the business world, inspiring the nation for decades.

“It was an honor and privilege to share a few moments with the great person that he was,” said Gogoi. “Not only has Business India lost a visionary leader, but the entire country has lost a man who inspired all for several decades.”

Justice Gogoi also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Tata family, joining many others in mourning the loss of an individual who made a significant mark on India’s business landscape and social fabric.

Both Ranjan Gogoi and Ratan Tata were recipients of the prestigious “Asom Baibhav,” Assam’s highest civilian award.

Tata received the honor in 2022, while Gogoi was bestowed with it this year, recognizing their remarkable contributions to society.

In the wake of Tata’s passing, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also shared his condolences, emphasizing the strong bond Tata had with the state.

Tata, a towering figure in Indian industry and former chairman of Tata Sons, passed away on October 9 at the age of 86.

N. Chandrasekaran, the current Chairman of Tata Sons, also expressed deep grief, stating, “It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation.”

Chandrasekaran described Tata as a mentor, guide, and friend who embodied excellence, integrity, and innovation, allowing the Tata Group to expand globally while maintaining its values.
