Former Meghalaya DGP LR Bishnoi Expresses Gratitude, Reflects on Tenure

Northeast Desk, 18th May: As he prepares to retire on May 19, Meghalaya’s Director General of Police (DGP), LR Bishnoi, took to Twitter on May 18 to express his heartfelt gratitude to those who supported him throughout his tenure. Bishnoi specifically thanked Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for his unwavering support.

In an emotionally charged video accompanying his tweet, Bishnoi reflected on his time in office with pride and sentiment. “As I speak these farewell words, pride and emotions are coming together within me like a symphony, harmonizing gratitude, nostalgia, and hope,” he said.

Bishnoi highlighted the significant challenges faced and victories achieved, particularly in the fight against drug trafficking in Meghalaya. He credited the steadfast commitment of the state’s leadership, especially Chief Minister Sangma, for steering the police force through these challenges. “Our fight against narcotic drugs was consistent, and people highly appreciated it,” Bishnoi remarked, underscoring the importance of sustained efforts in this area.

He extended his gratitude to the resilient and compassionate people of Meghalaya, noting their unwavering support as the cornerstone of the collective efforts to build a safer society. Bishnoi also expressed his appreciation for his colleagues, subordinates, and family members, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the successes achieved during his tenure. “To each one of you, I extend my heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude and my fervent prayers for a future filled with prosperity, peace, and progress,” he concluded.
