Guwahati: A former member of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) was allegedly kidnapped by a group of miscreants in Guwahati on Sunday.
The cadre has been identified as Siteswar Rabha alias Laden.
According to reports, Laden joined the mainstream a few years ago after being detained in Bangladesh.
Reportedly, he was abducted along with his wife from Bagharbari area of the city.
Fortunately, his wife identified as Nibha Rabha, managed to escape from the clutches of the kidnappers.
Later, she went to the Dispur police station and reported the incident.
However, she claims that police have yet to register a complaint.
She stated that the kidnappers had been calling her constantly and demanding Rs 80-90 lakh for her husband’s release, reports claimed.
It needs to be mentioned that Nibha is now pleading with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to take notice of the situation and rescue her husband.
